I’m 22, from St Bees, Cumbria. I’ve just graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge. After leaving school I taught English in Guangzhou for a year. I spent last year in Beijing, where I worked for Koryo Tours, a tour company that specialises in tourism to the DPRK (North Korea).
I love languages and travelling, I enjoy meeting people from all over the world and learning about their respective cultures. I have travelled extensively in China but have never been to Eastern Europe, the Middle East or Central Asia. This trip derives from my fascination to explore new places, especially those off the beaten track.
I have studied Chinese with Nick and Will for the past four years. I lived with Will in Beijing last year and just around the corner from Nick. During our degree we have forged great friendships and having already cycled 800km through rural China together, there’s no one with whom I’d rather undertake this fantastic trip.
